Access Blocked When Signing in With Google

Here’s what to do if you receive a message that Google has blocked access to RocketLit and requires admin approval.

Written by Sueann

What does this message mean?

If you see the message “Access blocked: Your institution’s admin needs to review RocketLit when signing in with Google, it means your school or district’s Google Workspace for Education administrator needs to approve RocketLit as a third-party app.

This is a Google security setting and not an issue with your RocketLit account.

Why am I seeing this message?

his typically happens when:

  • Your district restricts access to third-party apps by default

  • RocketLit has not yet been approved in your district’s Google Workspace Admin Console

Until RocketLit is approved, Google will block access for users at your school or district.

What do I need to do?

You’ll need to contact your school or district IT administrator and ask them to approve RocketLit in Google Workspace.

After RocketLit is approved

Once your IT administrator approves RocketLit:

  • Sign out of Google

  • Return to InnerOrbit and sign in again using Google

You should be able to access your account without seeing the error message.
