RocketLit gives teachers the flexibility to assign open book or closed book quizzes based on their classroom goals. This guide explains the difference between the two modes and shows you how to update the setting for your class.
What This Help Article Covers:
👀 What’s the Difference Between Open and Closed Book?
Closed Book (Default Setting)
Students read the article first, then take the quiz afterward.
Articles are not visible during the quiz.
📚 Open Book
Students are presented with a split screen: the article appears on one side, and the quiz appears on the other.
They can read and answer questions at the same time.
💡 Pro Tip: Use Open Book mode when you want students to refer to the text while answering questions, great for scaffolding or supporting comprehension.
