Looking for nonfiction articles that align directly to your state or the Next Generation Science Standards? RocketLit makes it easy to browse articles by standard so you can assign content that supports your instructional goals.

What This Help Article Covers:


📚 What Article-to-Standard Alignments Are Available?

RocketLit currently offers articles aligned to:

  • NGSS – Next Generation Science Standards

  • TEKS – Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • NCES – North Carolina Essential Standards

  • NGSSS – Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standards

📍 Tip: Once selected, your chosen set of standards will remain the default until changed—making planning more efficient!


🧭 How to Browse Articles by Standard

  1. Navigate to the "Articles" tab on your RocketLit dashboard.

  2. Choose one of the following methods:

    • Click the “By Standards” tab

    • Select the “Browse by Standards” browse tile

    • Type a specific standard code (e.g., MS-PS1-4) directly into the search bar

  3. Browse articles grouped by specific performance expectations or standards.

  4. To switch to a different set of standards (e.g., from NGSS to TEKS):

    • Click the “Select Different Standards” button in the bottom-left corner of the page.

Each standard listing includes two types of articles:

  • 📖 Aligned Articles – Directly support the specific performance expectation

  • 🧠 Background Articles – Provide foundational or supplemental knowledge to help students access and understand the standard
