🌐 Recommended Translator: Google Translate
Google Translate integrates with RocketLit to help students translate articles, questions, and answer choices into any language.
There are two ways to use Google Translate on RocketLit:
Option 1: Built-In Google Translate for Webpages (translates the entire page)
Option 2: Google Chrome Extension (translates specific words/phrases)
🖥️ Option 1: Built-In Google Translate for Webpages
This method translates the entire webpage, including articles, questions, and answer choices.
How to Enable Built-In Google Translate:
In the student’s Google Chrome browser, click the three dots in the top-right corner.
Select “Translate...” from the menu.
Click the three dots in the translation pop-up.
Select “Choose Another Language” and pick the desired language.
Refresh the page if the translation does not occur automatically.
🧩 Option 2: Google Chrome Extension
The Google Chrome Translate Extension allows students to translate highlighted words or phrases within articles and answer choices.
⚠️ Note: The Chrome Extension does not translate assessment questions.
How to Enable Pop-Up Translations:
Add the Google Chrome Translation Extension:
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store if you don’t already have it.
Open Extension Settings:
Click the Google Translate icon in the Chrome toolbar and select "Options".
Customize Your Translation Settings:
Display Icon: Show an icon you can click to display translations for highlighted text.
Immediately Display Popup: Automatically show translations for highlighted text without clicking.
